Northgate Healthcare is a family-run established residential care home provider based in Midlands.

The Firs Care Home, as a part of Northgate Healthcare, provides accommodation for 57 persons who require nursing or personal care.

Project Scope

In conjunction with a major refurbishment and extension, Fixfire® completed a full upgrade of the existing Life Safety Systems including:

Fire Alarm System. Replacement of existing conventional Fire Alarm System with 'open protocol' analogue addressable version including ML2 2 Loop control and indicating equipment. The installation involved new wiring throughout and was completed progressively maintaining full protection during each phase. The system complies with BS5839 Part 1 and is designed based on 'assisted-evacuation'.

Supply and installation of electromagnetic free-swing door closers to all bedroom and dayroom doors and door hold-back devices to thoroughfare communal corridor doors.

Installation of CareAlert600 Nurse Call System throughout the home including CareBell™ and CareDoor™ monitored access control systems including CareEntri™ and internal doors eg to stairs and CareXit™ with CareLock™ locking devices to perimeter exit doors.

Fire Fighting Equipment including Ultimex™ appliances and associated Fire Signage.

The experienced projects team are used to working in operational healthcare environments ensuring minimum disruption and minimum down-time during system upgrades and replacement.

Fixfire® provides planned and reactive maintenance for all systems and equipment.
